Owning a luxury car is a dream come true. Whether it is a rare vehicle or high-performance sports car, your vehicle requires the utmost care while it is both on the road and off. We often think about the maintenance work our vehicles need while being driven, but often forget about the issues that can arise by letting your car sit in storage with no care. Although it is not being used, your luxury car still needs regular care and attention to prevent costly repairs. In this blog post, we will explore some things you can do to protect your vehicle while it is in storage. • Choose the Right Storage Facility: Luxury cars need more than a basic storage unit. It is not enough to simply be kept indoors. They are significant investments that are made with high-quality parts that need the utmost care. Look for a car storage facility that offers a climate-controlled environment that protects your vehicle from extreme temperatures, humidity, and other environmental concerns. You also want to choose a facility that has proper security measures in place such as garage alarms, locked entrances, and gates. • Clean and Detail Your Car: Any dirt, dust, and debris on the surface of your vehicle and interior can cause issues like paint fading and damage to interior surface. Before you put your car into storage, thoroughly clean your vehicle inside and out. Wash the vehicle, clean the undercarriage, vacuum the car, use leather conditioner on all leather, and apply ceramic coatings to your vehicle’s paint is possible. • Maintain Fluids and Fuel: The fluids in your vehicle, such as the oil, brake fluid, and coolant, are essential to its safe operation. During storage, fluids that are low or contaminated can harm your vehicle in numerous ways. It is best to top up or change your fluids before putting your vehicle into storage. You should change your oil and oil filter to prevent contaminants from causing damage. You should also add fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. • Protect the Tires: Tire care is often overlooked during car storage, but it is crucial for maintaining their integrity. Inflate your tires to the manufacturer recommended psi to prevent flat spots from developing. Be sure to regularly check your tires as tires tend to slowly lose psi over time. • Battery Maintenance: Batteries can drain when left unused, especially if left in storage for long periods of time. It is best to disconnect the battery or attach it to a battery maintainer. For classic cars you should consider installing a cutoff switch to the negative terminal of the battery. • Regular Checkups: Even when in storage, it's important to periodically check on your luxury car. Visit the storage facility to inspect the vehicle, ensuring there are no signs of leaks or other issues. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate fluids and prevent seals from drying out. This will also help maintain the car's overall performance. spot!

Spy shots recently posted by GMAuthority.com seem to confirm that the new 2022 Corvette z06 will be available as a coupe and convertible. It was speculated that the 2022 Z06 would be returning to what many saw as it's roots by being an all out track machine, taking inspiration from previous generations of the Z06. However, as seen from these new photos, it appears that there is also a C8 Z06 Convertible prototype being tested on public roads. For more information and more photos, visit GMauthority.com .

Acura. Bugatti. Cadillac. Ford. Honda. Lamborghini. Toyota. Those are just some of the names represented at this year's New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), held in Manhattan, New York City. The show, which was more than four floors, was filled with all the latest new cars and trucks, from classics to debuts. There were over 1,000 vehicles, some of which have never been seen anywhere in the world. Not only were cars on display, but there were fun, interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy. Some of the vehicles that were featured included: Mazda 3 - This small car is available as a five-door hatchback or a four-door sedan. It has a sportier look and the interior includes comfortable seats that have been redesigned and a thin steering wheel. J aguar XE - This luxury car has been newly refreshed and is available in a rear-wheel drive option or all-wheel drive. Despite being a four-door model, the sporty design isn't compromised. It offers Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto options. Subaru Outback - These SUVs are still made with four-cylinder engines and you can get one with a turbocharger. The Outback includes the ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) in its new cars including adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. It includes a driver monitoring system, which uses infrared cameras and gaze tracking to detect if the person behind the wheel is distracted or drowsy. Audi Q3 - New York was the US debut for Audi's new Q3. It is a big upgrade from the old model, includes wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a roomy cabin, and rear sliding and reclining seats. Porsche Speedster - Last year was Porsche's 70th birthday and they created a new Speedster. This sports car includes a windscreen and side panels cut lower than normal. It is a little bit lighter than other sports cars and offers better performance. It is only available in a six-speed manual and only suitable for driving in good weather. Rivian R1T - This truck is not actually on the market as it is a startup vehicle. It is an electric truck with a power tailgate and a secondary panel that flattens to cover the gap if you need a longer bed. Instead of the engine taking up the front, there is a "frunk" for cargo that won't get wet. There is also more cargo space behind the cab as well as a gear tunnel that can be used as seats or steps. Other than cars and trucks on display, the NYIAS offered a variety of interactive displays including: Toyota Concept i Virtual Reality experience Honda Dream Machine Chevrolet Tech Studio Dodge Challenger racing challenge Hyundai Xbox One Forza Motorsport 7 racing challenge Camp Jeep ride-and-drive And Much More Hands-on Activities and Special Exhibits Included: Chevrolet LEGO Silverado build station Ford LEGO build your own race car driver figure Exotic Vehicles including Bugatti, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, and more. Porsche is entering a new era with the release of an electric car for the first time. Porsche’s groundbreaking release, the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S, offers sports car enthusiasts the power and speed they’ve always loved from Porsche vehicles, just at a level of efficiency previously not seen before. In an attempt to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S passes the test as a vehicle that provides plenty of horsepower and acceleration, all while operating without internal combustion. The Taycan Turbo S is produced on a new platform that will also be the basis for other new electric sports cars from Porsche and Audi. This vehicle is not like other electric cars. Those who love the feeling of a drive in a Porsche will still enjoy that same power and speed with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. There’s no questioning the Taycan Turbo S’s ability to get up to top speed. The car has been tested to get up to 60 miles per hour in just 2.6 seconds. How quickly can the Taycan Turbo S drive a quarter of a mile? In just 10.8 seconds. The 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S offers an impressive combination of speed and power. This machine opens up quickly despite weighing 5,121 pounds. The Taycan Turbo S operates on a low center of gravity with 21-inch wheels. In addition to being an exhilarating thrill ride on the open road, the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is also practical for everyday use. The car is easy to drive with tall front fenders to help you navigate the nose and short hood, as well as rear-wheel steering. The Taycan Turbo S also includes a touchscreen on the center console, gear selector on the dash, and an on/off button conveniently located just to the left of the steering wheel. The 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is Porsche’s answer to the question about what sports cars will look like in a future without internal combustion engines. You still get that same, powerful, high-performance drive Porsche is known for, just with a battery that charges quickly. A vehicle like the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S requires the best possible storage to stay safe and secure. Take care of your new car with help from CT Car Storage. Another Labor Day weekend has come and gone, and for car lovers in the Tri-State Area, that means one thing: the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park! Every year, the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park is the place for car lovers to show off their classic rides and see other vintage vehicles. Whether you go there to race, to show off your vehicle at the Concours d’Elegance, or simply to see some fantastic cars in action, you’re sure to have a great time! We’re proud to report that this year’s Historic Festival, the 37th annual one, was just as good as in previous years. Besides the usual offerings – three days of vintage car racing, a Concours d’Elegance and Gathering of the Marques, and plenty of concessions and shopping to enjoy – this year also brought some new attractions to the event. Event organizers held a special tribute to the Formula Ford, which, if you know your racing history, you’ll recognize as the vehicle that helped many Formula 1 and Indy Car drivers start their engines (and their careers). This year’s Saturday Night Dinner and a Panel celebrated the Formula Ford’s 50th anniversary. There was also a special celebration of the Morgan, and this year’s honored guest was Luigi Chinetti Junior. We know we had a grand time at this year’s Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park, and we hope you did, too! We can’t think of a better way to close out the summer. Check out their Facebook albums to relive the memories and connect with other fans. End of Summer Thoughts Now that another Labor Day weekend is behind us, it’s time to look ahead to fall and winter. For many classic car lovers, this means putting their beloved vehicles into storage. After all, you don’t want your classic ride facing the salt and snow of a Northeastern winter! At CT Car Storage, we’re happy to help. We offer top-tier climate-controlled car storage to drivers throughout the Tri-State Area, including Madison, CT; Guilford, CT; Bedford, NY; Brewster, NY; Weston, CT; Pound Ridge, NY; New York, NY; Orange, CT; Darien, CT; Westchester County, NY; Fairfield, CT; Greenwich, CT; Milford, CT; New Canaan, CT; Woodbridge, CT; Danbury, CT; Norwalk, CT; Stamford, CT; Westport, CT; and Ridgefield, CT. On July 18th, Chevrolet revealed the eighth generation of Corvettes to the world. The car world has been buzzing about it ever since. We’ve rounded up some need-to-know facts about this newest addition to the Corvette family tree. To learn more, keep reading! What’s New: • The Engine: The new Corvette is the first in the series to be mid-engined, putting it in the same company as the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and Ford GT. And there have been plenty of other upgrades made along the way. • The Transmission: For the first time since 1955, the new Corvette will be automatic-only. While it will be possible to manually control the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the actual shift changes won’t be mechanical. It’s all computers from here on out. • The Suspension: After seven generations with leaf springs, the C8 has upgraded to a coil-spring suspension. • The Styling: Moving the engine from under the hood to behind the front seat means that the style of the Corvette will have to change. But don’t worry, there will still be plenty of classic Corvette touches, like the peaked front fenders and the nose’s center spear. What You Need to Know: • Availability: The vehicle will be going into production later this year, and it should be available for sale soon after production starts. • Price: Pricing details haven’t been released yet, but the vehicle should start under $60,000 for the basic package. More bells and whistles will mean a higher price. • 0 to 60: It’s tough to say for certain, since the vehicle isn’t available yet, but Chevrolet claims that the vehicle could get up to 60 in 3.0 seconds (with the Z51 performance package).
